| | | 4 Montabert V32 and a Montabert 700 are participating in the construction of the Soumagne Tunnel in Belgium |
In different places in Benelux, works on the TGV network are still taking place.
In order to establish a connection between Brussels (Belgium) and Cologne (Germany), works are taking place at Soumagne near Liege. When finished this tunnel will be the longest in the Belgium network (5,940 m). It should be operational towards the end of 2006.
The building contractors association, established for this construction, is kitted out with Montabert equipment.
In the first phase, drilling is carried out by successive movements of approximately 1 meter by means of machines capable of limited attacks or by Robofores equipped with Montabert hydraulic drifters, according to hardness of the surface.
Then, Montabert rock breakers ensure the excavation of the slabs and blocks. These breakers were already well known by the majority of the companies composing the building contractors association. The customer opted for 4 Montabert V 32 breakers, mounted on Liebherr 932 excavators. The terrain is of very different hardness over it's entire length and the V 32 enables the best production at all times, thanks to it's automatic energy adjustment. The Montabert 700 which is mounted on a Liebherr 902 is mainly used in areas inaccessible for machines equipped with the V32.
