The building of the Victor Palace, near the port in Monaco, had to be started with the construction of an underground car park on four levels. This highly technical application, due to the position of the site situated between three other buildings, excluded the use of explosives.
The workmen had to dig through the rock (very hard white limestone without any faults) with hydraulic rock breakers, to a depth of 14m, over a surface area of approximately 4 000m².
The group of entrepreneurs in charge of the job site worked with 3 rock breakers, including one Montabert V32 and one Montabert V55. The latter, belonging to the Cicuttini TP Company, which deals with excavation work, demolition and road building, and is situated in Frejus. Cicuttini TP uses Montabert demolition accessories exclusively . It owns a DA 450 crusher with MB jaws, mounted on a Caterpillar 330 with a long boom of 24m. It also has a Montabert V45 mounted on a Cat 325, as well as a recently acquired V55, mounted on a Cat 330B.
The rock breakers were a great asset on this site and enabled the workmen to complete the job in just over 3 months. Christophe Cicuttini is very satisfied with the operating capacity and the reliability of Montabert products.
